Tsala AI ('we', 'us', 'our') is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable data protection law.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: Name, email address, phone number, and role when you register.

Profile data: CV/resume files, work experience, education, skills, profile picture, and professional headline.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, job searches, application history, and platform interactions.

Communications: Messages sent between users on the platform, and support enquiries.

To create and manage your account
To match job seekers with relevant job opportunities
To enable recruiters to find and evaluate candidates
To provide AI-powered features (CV analysis, job matching, interview coaching)
To send notifications about job matches, applications, and platform updates
To improve the platform through anonymised analytics

3. AI Processing and Third-Party APIs

Tsala AI uses Anthropic's Claude AI API to power intelligent features. When you use AI features, relevant portions of your content (such as CV text or job descriptions) are sent to Anthropic's API for processing.

We implement the following protections:

Data minimisation: We only send the content necessary for the specific AI task requested.
No training use: We use Anthropic's API under terms that prohibit your data from being used to train AI models.
Opt-out: You can choose not to use AI features. Core platform functionality (browsing jobs, submitting applications) does not require AI processing.

4. Data Sharing

We share data in the following circumstances:

Recruiters: When you apply for a job or your profile is visible, recruiters can see your profile and application details.
Service providers: We use third-party providers for hosting (AWS/cloud), email delivery, and payment processing. These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Profile Visibility

Job seekers can control their profile visibility from Account Settings. Options include public (visible to all recruiters), recruiters only, or private. Recruiter profiles are visible to job seekers viewing job listings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g. financial records).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings.
Deletion: Delete your account and associated data from Account Settings.
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection: Object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use session cookies required for authentication and platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Analytics data is collected in aggregate form to understand platform usage.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted password storage, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure; please notify us immediately if you suspect a breach.

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
